The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) was formed in 1926 and is Australia's national science agency.
CSIRO has six National Research Flagships in a variety of areas such as "Energy Transformed", "Food Futures", "Light Metals", "Preventative Health", "Water for a a Healthy Country" and 'Wealth from Oceans".
CSIRO is involved in more than 740 research activities, working with leading scientific organisations in more than 80 countries with partners and customers ranging from foreign governments, small companies to large multi-nationals and international foundations.
